THE ORIGINS OF PROGRESSIVISM AND ITS DANGERS

• “Progressivism” (Statism) is a socio-political ideology imported from Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a form of rule to replace constitutional government in America.
• This ideology originated as a Socialist system taught by Oxford University Professor John Ruskin within the confines of wealthy late-19th century British Elites, to be used as a means of ruling the lower classes.
• Ruskin taught that this benevolent rule (and control) of the lower classes, was the duty of the Elites, due to their natural and hereditary superiority to all other races, ideologies, and persons.
• His students, including Sir Cecil Rhodes, wholly adopted this philosophy and pledged themselves to its pursuit—the establishment of benevolent world-rule, supervised by privileged, wealthy Elites.
• President Woodrow Wilson was the first American president to fully adopt Progressivism and accept the challenge of suborning constitutional government to it, as memorialised in his book, “The New Freedom.”
• In the year 1913—President Wilson and his ‘Progressives’ pushed through Constitutional Amendments 16 and 17, and The Glass-Owen Act (Federal Reserve) creating the tools necessary to move U.S. government to the Statist model and eliminate constitutional checks and balances designed to prevent it.
• Federal government migrated from small and constitutionally ‘limited’ to perpetual growth without restraint or limit.  Presently, 1.97 million federal bureaucrats create, monitor, and enforce laws rarely, if ever, passed by any elected representatives of the People—Parties A and C to our Contract (Constitution).
• Party B (federal government) is in serious breach of this contract.
• Party C (State governments) were eliminated from the contract by unconstitutional fraud (Amendment 17) in 1913, though this change was specifically forbidden in Article I of the Constitution.  
• Progressivism’s intended and stated goal is to subjugate and control nations (as put forth by proponents  Herbert Croly, John Dewey, Walter Weyl and President Woodrow Wilson in their writings). 
• Supreme Court decisions secured by Progressives granted ‘citizenship’ to corporations in order to allow their money into politics (previously forbidden), though corporations were never a party to our Contract.
• Under Progressive Corporatocracy, hundreds of thousands of regulations intended to restrict competition have been created outside of law, enabling Progressive monopolies to exist in banking, media, professional services, and businesses/organizations controlled by Progressive Elites. 
• Constitutional studies were intentionally eliminated from public education in the 1990s and NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) found only 1 in 10 students now know its basic tenants.
• Rather than George Washington, Karl Marx is considered by students today to be greatest character in history and author, Howell Woltz, proposes that this was not by accident.
• The author proposes in Restoring America that the problems faced by America today find root in departing from our lawful form of government under Progressivism. He calls for a Convention of States to restore.
